The Seminole ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved our new Chief Financial Officer on Wednesday, June 25th at a Special Called Meeting. We welcome Mr. Joseph O'Malley to this important position in SISD as Mr. Jay Lashaway retires from the District after several years of outstanding service. We wish Mr. Lashaway the very best in his new endeavors & thank him for his dedicated service to Seminole ISD.
Mr. O'Malley is coming to Seminole after serving the past 4-years as Superintendent of Merkel ISD (near Abilene). Mr. O'Malley previously served as Assistant Superintendent of Finance in Merkel ISD for 5-years. Having previous West Texas ties, he is very well-versed in school finance & will be an excellent advocate for our school district. His wife, Heather, grew up in Loop & has taught in various capacities over the years, She will be joining Seminole ISD as well as a teacher. Joseph & Heather have four children: Brett (28), Malloree (25), Alyssa (21), & Maddox (19). Please help me welcome the O'Malley family to Seminole ISD! Mr. O'Malley's official start date is pending, but we're hopeful he can land in SISD in July. Great days ahead with our new CFO!
