Mr. Anthony Newberry Recognized as September Teacher of the Month

Seminole ISD is proud to recognize Mr. Anthony Newberry as a Teacher of the Month, honoring his dedication to students, colleagues, and the community.

Each school year, a select group of teachers—one from each campus—is highlighted for their outstanding contributions. Honorees are celebrated in front of their peers, featured on social media, and awarded $500 in classroom supplies. In May, they stand together as finalists for Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Newberry is known for his tireless support of both students and staff. Colleagues describe him as someone who is “always there for everybody,” bringing passion, encouragement, and a sense of belonging to his classrooms. His leadership in UIL has guided Seminole ISD math teams to state competitions multiple times, inspiring confidence and pride among students.

Outside of the classroom, Mr. Newberry is a familiar face at school events—from band and speech contests to athletic competitions. His commitment extends far beyond academics, showing students that their efforts matter in every arena.

Reflecting on the honor, Mr. Newberry shared, “This award means a lot because it comes from the teachers. It shows that my peers see the work and effort I put into my craft and into the students.” He often reminds his students, “I expect greatness from you because there’s greatness in you.”

Congratulations, Mr. Newberry, and thank you for representing the heart of Seminole ISD.
