One Tribe is the mission statement of adopted by Seminole ISD and Frames our approach to teaching learning and Facilities as a member of our community we want to share with you information about the 2023 bond election of May 6th and how they spent an of our Career and Technical programs that are high school impact our entire Community every student every teacher every family and every business this Bond action would fund both new construction and comprehensive renovation at the Career and Technical education wing of the high school sisd has seen its substantial increase in students attending Career and Technical education courses or c t e CT forces support all students does planning for college and also those entering the workforce or trade school After High School planning to address the growth was comprehensive and examined physical condition new educational requirements put it interviewed with teachers in each program and input from community members will the size and enrollment and we have much more interested programs the Board of Trustees authorized development of a CTE facilities master plan to examine potential Renovations new lab spaces and expansion capability for future programs include a new egg Sciences Edition which allows the reconfiguration of existing shops in labs in the current building the plan also brings the medical professionals program to the high school campus in new construction eliminating the need for students to drive to the old Senior High renovations to the existing building include expansion of construction trade welding and cosmetology centralizing special needs art Audio Visual and Computer Sciences renovating the food lab and creation of an motus technology classroom and Floral Design Lab rest rooms and corridors in the swing would also be renovated based on the feedback from the citizens meeting and approved master plan the board voted in February to call for a bond election to fund the proposed improvements a summary presentation of the master plan can be found at The District's Bond website at www.sec.gov. Net / Bond 23 the new Career and Technical Wing is intended to be completed for the school beginning in the fall of 2025 Renovations of the existing lab spaces will be phased around school operations with total completion of the bond program by January 2026 so what is the impact of the taxpayers if the bond proposition pass there is no tax rate increase with this bond election an increase in values in the district provides the capacity for a 25 million dollar Bond voters must still authorize it 100% of those dollars must by law be designated to and the bond projects and 100% of the dollars will stay in Seminole bond funds are not subject to recapture by the state's goal at the school district to make sure that your kids are prepared when they leave us whether that's to go to college weather. Staying in the workforce that's Arndale it's unbelievable the number of kids that are coming into the classes as a registered nurse for 22 years it has been a pleasure being able to help the future mines in the coalfield to say Hayes I'm going to be a part of that in the future people how to interact with people that's one thing is Generation Z I miss a lot of complete the program here they can go straight into the work force here in Seminole or wherever you know their heart desires and my program they can go straight into a salon when they finish their state test so they have no problem getting jobs being informed voter learn more by visiting the district's Bond website Seminole ISD dotnet or Bond 23 with so many of our students over 92% I've taken at least 1 CTE class in their career we're seeing that we got a great many to do the vision Park District is simply this one tribe in pursuit of excellence and what we love about that is regardless of the diversity 4 differences that we have we have an opportunity to come together and be one early voting begins April 24th and runs through May 2nd let your voice be heard do boat
