SISD names Rebecca Lashaway Principal of Seminole Primary

Dear Seminole Tribe Families,

We are pleased to announce Rebecca Lashaway as Principal at Seminole Primary. This transition comes after Kathy Moore made the decision to pursue another opportunity within SISD. Mrs. Lashaway has served as the assistant principal at Seminole Primary for the past three years. She has also served in a variety of teaching positions ranging from 2nd through 8th grade classrooms during her tenure at Lubbock, Tulia, Brownfield, and Seminole Independent School Districts.

Dr. Sylvia Suarez, Assistant Superintendent stated, “We have been incredibly focused this year on our vision as a district, and we know that vision does not come to life without dynamic leaders in every school. Mrs. Moore was a dynamic leader, and we would like to extend our gratitude to her for her leadership on the campus over the last several years. We greatly appreciate the impact she made while serving at Seminole Primary. With her departure, our principal selection committee set out to find another dynamic leader for the campus. We are extremely excited to promote Mrs. Rebecca Lashaway to the principal position. We have witnessed her work ethic, heart for children, and dedication to staff members while serving the campus as Assistant Principal. Mrs. Lashaway will do an excellent job as Primary Principal, and we have full confidence in her ability to lead the campus.”

I am humbled and excited to be given this opportunity to lead the Primary team,” stated Rebecca Lashaway. “I hope to continue with the hard work this campus has done to help all of our kids reach their potential. SISD has the best teachers and students in West Texas and I am lucky to be a part of that team!”

We look forward to the upcoming school year and the great things that will continue to come for Seminole Primary.

Sincerely,

Emily Birdwell
