Energy, optimism, and a genuine love for students are just a few of the qualities that led Mrs. Wilkins to be named Seminole ISD’s Teacher of the Month for February. Known for bringing enthusiasm and creativity to campus, she has quickly become someone students and staff alike enjoy being around.
Colleagues say her positivity is contagious. Counselor Raylee Welch shared that Mrs. Wilkins brings “kind of a fun energy and… super positive outlook to our campus,” adding that she is “always thinking of fun ideas for the students and staff.” That spirit helps create a welcoming atmosphere where both students and coworkers feel encouraged and supported.
During the recognition, Randy Jones, Principal of Success Center, summed up how many on campus feel about her impact: “Thank you for being you… thank you for making the lights a little brighter… thank you for making the culture a little better.”
For Mrs. Wilkins, the opportunity to work with students each day is something she doesn’t take for granted. She shared, “I don’t consider this a job. I consider this as a privilege and an opportunity.” She added that the relationships built with students are just as meaningful to her as the lessons she teaches, saying, “I get to impact these kids. I get to be impacted by these students.”
Mrs. Wilkins also expressed appreciation for the school community, noting how grateful she is for the chance to be part of the Seminole ISD family. Her enthusiasm, kindness, and dedication continue to make a difference for the students and staff around her.
